Pillion riding banned in Karachi for indefinite period

KARACHI: Owing to prevailing tense situation in the city, the Sindh government has decided to impose a fresh ban on pillion riding from midnight for indefinite period, SAMAA reported Sunday evening.

“Ban is being imposed due to critical condition in the city,” said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

While talking to SAMAA, he said that miscreants use bikes for the crime most of the time in the city therefore, he added, the provincial government has took this decision.

He said that his government intended to provide security to the common people. The government knows that the ban will bring trouble to common people, he added.

Fifteen persons have been killed in different areas of the city today (Sunday) despite deployment of law enforcement agencies. The provincial and federal governments directed authorities to take stern action against killers. SAMAA
