Politicians must purge the country from corruption: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Pakistan was going through a critical stage in its history and that the country’s politicians would have to make up for the damaging mistakes that they have made in the past, DawnNews reported. 

Speaking at a conference, Shahbaz said politicians must mend their ways and purge the country from corruption. Shahbaz further said that the Pakistani army was amongst the bravest militaries in the world, however, certain generals had been compromising the country’s sovereignty and dignity. He said that the United States’ refusal to vacate the Shamsi air base was tantamount to challenging the country’s status as a sovereign state. DAWN
