England complete victory over India
LONDON: England completed a 196-run victory over the world number one side India on the final day of the first test at Lord's on Monday.
India were dismissed for 261 in the final session before a capacity crowd.
James Anderson was the most successful of the England bowlers with five for 65, including the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar lbw for 12.
Tendulkar, 38, the world record holder for test runs who needs one more hundred to reach 100 international centuries, has never scored more than 37 in a test at Lord's. Suresh Raina top-scored for India with 78.
England can overtake India in the world rankings if they win the four-match series by a margin of at least two tests. AGENCIES
