-----------------------------------------------------------------
By Ismail Khan
PESHAWAR, May 29: A tribal physician who helped the CIA track down Osama bin Laden was convicted on charges of colluding with the banned Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) and its chief, Mangal Bagh, court documents reveal.
The four-member tribal court did not entertain evidence relating to Dr Shakil Afridi's involvement with the CIA, citing lack of jurisdiction as the main reason and recommended that he be produced before the relevant court for further proceedings under the law, leaving the option open for his trial under treason law...

----------------------------------------------------------------
By Khawar Ghumman
ISLAMABAD, May 29: The government has finally taken notice of the troubles in Balochistan and announced some measures that could turn out to be revolutionary or simply symbolic.
The meeting on the province, which the prime minister had announced in a television interview a day earlier, was held on Tuesday and ended with the government decision to give the generally missing-in-action chief minister of Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani, the powers to deploy the Frontier Constabulary (FC) in the province. In addition, the FC was also relieved of its anti-smuggling duty in the border areas of the province...

Towards the debt trap
----------------------------------------------------------------
By Khurram Husain
It's a lesson the Mughals learned the hard way: if you cannot raise the revenues to pay for your government, your country won't be yours to govern for very long.
If you look at the raw numbers alone, the story can be quite alarming. Pakistan's stock of public debt has doubled since this government came into power, but that number can be misleading. When thinking about debt it's better to look at the proportions, rather than the raw quantities...
