PPP wins AJK legislative assembly polls

MUZAFFARABAD: The official results of the legislative assembly elections of Azad Kashmir have been unveiled, according to which, twelve candidates of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and seven of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) have won the elections, SAMAA reported Sunday night. Azad Kashmir Chief Election Commissioner Khwaja Mohammed Saeed announced the first result as per which, PPP’s Azhar Hussain Gilani was declared successful with 1,397 votes.According to the official and unofficial results received from different polling stations, PPP’s candidates are leading in the elections. PPP’s Mohammed Afsar Shahid won LA1 Mirpur 1 constituency while independent candidateMasood Khalid stood second.PPP’s Chaudhry Abdul Majid won LA2 Mirpur 1 seat while N-League’s Captain Mohammed Sarfaraz remained second.PPP’s Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry won LA3 Mirpur 3 constituency while Chaudhry Mohammed Sharf was second PPP’s Chaudhry Arshad won LA4 Mirpur 4 legislative seat while independent candidate Awaina Rukhsar was second.
