Govt submits reply in SC over NAB chief appointment

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: The government has filed its reply in the Supreme Court on a petition filed by the Leader of the Opposition, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, against the appointment of NAB chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari.

"The petition was jointly drafted by the attorney general and a deputy attorney general," a NAB official told Dawn on Friday. "The NAB's legal team was not consulted and the reply was drafted by the attorney general and the deputy attorney general."..

ADDU (Maldives), Nov 11: Although Afghanistan agreed to resume trilateral dialogue with Pakistan and Iran, President Hamid Karzai during a meeting here with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the Saarc summit called for Pakistan's meaningful cooperation in investigating the assassination of Afghan peace jirga chief Prof Burhanuddin Rabbani.

NEW Delhi, Nov 11: India's rightwing opposition and other Pakistan baiters have slammed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's peace talks with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in the Maldives, warning that he may have weakened New Delhi's fight against cross-border terrorism.

Mansoor Ijaz stands by his claim
