Haqqani to meet political, military leaders today

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: As the memogate scandal deepens with fresh revelations by US-based businessman Mansoor Ijaz, the man at the centre of the controversy, Ambassador Husain Haqqani twice met President Asif Ali Zardari at the presidency on Sunday and is reported to have stuck to his stance that he had nothing to do with the memo allegedly sent to former US military chief Mike Mullen to stave off a possible military takeover.
Sources close to the president told Dawn that these were informal meetings and, therefore, there was no official word about it from the presidency...

Zardari had no knowledge of memo: Ijaz

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: US businessman of Pakistani origin Mansoor Ijaz has rejected reports that there was some understanding between President Asif Ali Zardari and Ambassador Husain Haqqani regarding the controversial memo sent to US military chief Mike Mullen and said the president had no knowledge of any such document.
He claimed that President Zardari might have spoken to Mr Haqqani after the May raid about the pressure on him, hence asking the latter to help him out in this regard, leaving the mechanics to the ambassador how to go about it...

Babar calls it 'civil war' threat

Devolution: Centre, provinces still fighting over share in assets
