Post-Nato strike video released

ISLAMABAD, Nov 30: The Inter-Services Public Relations released on Wednesday a video footage showing the two Pakistani posts destroyed in strikes carried out by Nato helicopters and a warplane on Saturday.

Twenty-four troops, including two officers of Pakistan Army, were killed and 13 others injured during the attack on the Volcano and Boulder posts in Salala area of Mohmand Agency...

Prices of diesel, petrol raised

ISLAMABAD, Nov 30: The government has again decided not to reduce prices of petroleum products despite a decline in oil prices in the international market, apparently to cover adjustments made in petroleum levy. It added to the woes of already overburdened consumers by increasing the price of high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs4.67 to Rs98.94 per litre and that of petrol by 48 paisa to Rs87.89 per litre for the month of December.

The federal government deregulated the prices of almost all petroleum products in June this year and allowed refineries and oil marketing companies to announce ex-refinery and ex-depot prices every month, keeping in view the import parity price...

PR secretary removed for taking graft cases to NAB: Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Nov 30: Former minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed claimed before the Supreme Court bench hearing a suo motu case about corruption in Pakistan Railways on Wednesday that sitting Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour had requested him to withdraw from the case.

Sheikh Rashid also lamented before the two-judge bench that Railways Secretary Javed Ahmed had been removed from his post after he had submitted corruption cases to the National Accountability Bureau. The PR's general manager may meet the same fate, he said...

US given Dec 11 deadline to vacate Shamsi airbase

Election authority seeks full financial autonomy

Bonn conference: US urges 'at least low-level' Participation
