White House blocks move to stifle aid

Accord between commanders: Pak-Afghan soil not to be used for border raids

ISLAMABAD, June 29: Pakistan's military establishment and the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) have resolved that territories of Pakistan and Afghanistan will no longer be used as safe havens for cross-border attacks.

The commitment was made at a meeting of top military officers of the two sides. According to a joint statement of the Pakistan Army and Isaf issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, Isaf Commander General John R. Protest strike in Quetta against pilgrims' killing

QUETTA, June 29: A strike was observed in different parts of the city on Friday in protest against Thursday's bomb attack on a bus carrying Shia pilgrims as death toll from the incident rose to 14.

A large number of people belonging to the Hazara community attended the funeral of those killed in the bomb explosion. Seven of the deceased were buried at a graveyard on Alamdar road and four in Hazara town...

CNG price reduced

'Border Military Police an unconstitutional entity': NA panel wants police probe into Fort Munro case

Taliban deny taking orders from Pakistan

KABUL, June 29: The Afghan Taliban have denied that they had obtained permission from Pakistan to send representatives to Qatar to participate in initial talks that US officials had hoped would lead to a peace deal in Afghanistan, saying they had acted independently.

India denies Surjeet was sent on spying mission

NEW DELHI, June 29: India on Friday denied that an Indian man freed after serving three decades in a Pakistani jail on espionage charges was a spy working for New Delhi.

The denial came even though the released prisoner, Surjeet Singh, 69, had told Indian media on Thursday that he was spying for India when he was arrested by Pakistani authorities in the 1980s. Singh returned to India on Thursday after being freed...
