Wapda to introduce pre-paid meters to streamline recovery

Judges pardon Altaf after unconditional apology

Qadri rules out change in march plan

LAHORE, Jan 7: Despite having been briefed by Interior Minister Rehman Malik on security threats and government’s arrangements to counter these on the eve of his march, Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri reiterated on Monday that he could not guarantee a peaceful march if someone tried to sabotage it.

“Despite hurdles being created by district administrations in the form of pressure on transporters to return the advance booking/money to our party leaders in various districts and tehsils, we will hold the march at all costs. And if someone tries to disrupt it, I will not guarantee that the marchers will remain peaceful,” Dr Qadri said while talking to reporters after a meeting with the interior minister...

Delhi gang-rape accused in court for first time

NEW DELHI, Jan 7: Five men appeared in court for the first time on Monday to face charges over the murder and gang-rape of a 23-year-old student in New Delhi amid chaotic scenes that forced the hearing behind closed doors.
