In back-to-back interviews to CNN-IBN and Reuters, Mr Sharif touched several key issues, notably the war against terrorism, possibility of negotiations with the Pakistani Taliban, civilian supremacy over the army and economy. | ||||||

Govt to ensure 13,000MW generation on polling dayBy Khaleeq KianiISLAMABAD, May 5: Even though the disbursements under Rs45 billion approved by the caretaker prime minister on April 26 are yet to begin, the government has decided to increase electricity generation and maintain it at 11,000MW in run-up to elections and then ensure 13,000MW on May 11 and the day after. The current generation fluctuates in the close vicinity of 9,500MW against a demand of about 13,500 to 14,000MW, a senior official told Dawn.
