Three new polio cases reportedIkram JunaidiISLAMABAD: The National Institute of Health has said that three confirmed cases of polio have been reported from Khyber Agency, taking the number of victims of the deadly disease to 91 in six and a half months of this year. Last year�s total polio count was 93. The three have been identified as Sumbul, daughter of Waris Khan of Akakhel in tehsil Bara; Samran, daughter of Khan Alam of Shah Dalay village, also of tehsil Bara; and Ibrahim, son of Shakeel of Kanday Mirankhel village in the same tehsil. Two of them are facing the attack of paralysis. | ||||||||||||||

Evacuation of Mamond villages orderedAnwarullah KhanKHAR: The political administration of Bajaur Agency has ordered people living in border areas of Mamond tehsil to evacuate their homes by Tuesday morning because of the possibility of a military operation in the region. Israeli shelling continues despite calls for truceReutersGAZA: Israel kept up its air and naval bombardments of the Gaza Strip despite growing international pressure on Tel Aviv for a ceasefire, and Palestinian militants resumed rocket attacks on the Israeli capital after a 24-hour lull. The military said it had shot down a drone from Gaza, the first reported deployment of an unmanned aircraft by Palestinian militants whose rocket attacks have been regularly intercepted. | ||||||||||||||
