Women being harassed at Sindh's Nutrition Support Program Posted: KARACHI: (Dunya News) – A video has on Saturday surfaced in which Sindh Nutrition Support Program manager Dr Mazhar Khameesani can be seen allegedly harassing a female officer, reported Dunya News.The female victim of the harassment says that she was stopped in office on the day she was harassed while rest of the staff was sent on a workshop. She told that Dr Mazhar Khameesani tried to get close to her after calling her to his room.The female officer took her mobile camera into the office upon being called inside. She told that Mazhar Khameesani got offended by her resistance and stopped her promotion to health and nutrition officer, while another lady officer in Nangarparkar Taluqa headquarters was also stopped from promotion.The affected woman complained to the chief minister against the officer. |

JI chief Siraj ul-Haq left the public meeting, angry over the workers’ reaction to the sight of Biryani, reported Dunya News.Siraj ul-Haq was scheduled to speak at the event at 1 pm and the organisers had also arranged Biryani for the attendants. Lahore: Traffic blocked in Sanda due to protests against load shedding Posted: LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Traffic control saw a total breakdown on Saturday in Lahore’s Sanda area after the residents came on roads protesting against long absence of electricity in the area, reported Dunya News.As soon as the weather has changed in Lahore, LESCO has come back to its old ways, increasing the load shedding hours dramatically. Water supply has also been affected by the load shedding. Unnerved by the situation, people took to roads and raised slogans against LESCO.The protestors said that while there was shortage of electricity and water, the tariffs are getting higher and higher. Where the poor should go, they asked.Meanwhile, police arrived at the scene as they learned of the protest. They convinced the protestors that their issue will be addressed soon after which the protestors dispersed. |

PM diagnosed with small kidney stone: Maryam Nawaz Posted: LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif has on Saturday said that PM has been diagnosed with a small kidney stone but he is fine and no intervention is required.It had been reported earlier that PM was ill and had gone for a checkup, after which the doctors had cleared him and allowed him to go home. PM arrived at his residence in Raiwind shortly thereafter.PM had felt some pain in his kidney after which he had been examined at a private hospital on MM Alam Road in Lahore. Doctors prescribed medicine and said that there was nothing extraordinary.Maryam Nawaz tweeted that PM was completely fine and there was no need for an intervention. She added that PM had been diagnosed with a kidney stone, which wasn’t really very serious.As opposed to the sensational news on media,PM is Alhamdolillah fine. No 9 squadrons of PAF, British Royal Air Force declared twins Posted: KARACHI: (Dunya News) – No 9 squadrons of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and British Royal Air Force have on Saturday been declared as twins. Air Chief Marshal Suhail Aman said that he did his best, in line with the traditions of his seniors, to turn PAF into the one of the best air forces of the world, reported Dunya News.According to PAF spokesperson, this day marks a milestone for the famed 9 Squadron as it was declared twins with 9 Squadron of British Royal Air Force. An impressive ceremony was held in this regard at PAF’s Mashaf Airbase which was attended by British Royal Air Force head Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen John Hillier as chief guest.PAF Air Chief Marshal Suhail Aman said on the occasion that the air force’s subsequent chiefs did their best to make PAF one of the best air forces in the world and he also tried his best to follow in their footsteps. One injured as Indian forces resorted to indiscriminate firing across LoC Posted: RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A civilian was injured as the Indian forces on Saturday resorted to unprovoked firing at Chiri Kot sector of the Line of Control (LoC).According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the indiscriminate ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along LoC in Chiri Kot sector injured a civilian identified as Ateeq Qureshi.It has been reported that the injured civilian was shifted to hospital for medical assistance.Pakistani troops effectively responded to the Indian aggression, the ISPR added.The unprovoked ceasefires violations by the Indian forces have been very common after the tensions flared up between Pakistan and India. |
Three MQM-London protestors arrested near Karachi Press Club Posted: KARACHI (Dunya News) - Law enforcement agencies on Saturday detained three protestors of MQM-London while they were protesting against the arrest of Dr Hassan Zafar at Krachi Press Club, reported Dunya News.As per details, Mehr Afroz Murad, Dr Riaz and Naghmana Sheikh were detained from outside the Karachi Press Club.Meanwhile, sources at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-London have revealed that these people were not part of the party and that they had come to hold the press conference on their own.In addition, Dr Naveen Haider expressed that she alongside her colleagues were holding a press conference to express solidarity with Dr Hassan Zafar.She let it be known that we are teachers and have nothing to do with any political party. |
