ISLAMABAD, Oct 4: There may be something more in store in the continuing executive-judiciary saga. Thursday’s proceedings of the case about the ISI doling out funds to politicians in the 1990s took a new twist when the Supreme Court decided to focus its attention on political activities in the presidency.

In an unexpected move, a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S. PM orders assessment of global reaction to tax amnesty plan

Egyptian court frees children

CAIRO, Oct 4: An Egyptian court on Thursday ordered the release of two Coptic Christian children accused of insulting Islam, a source in the prosecutor’s office said.

He said that prosecutor Abdel Meguid Mahmud took the decision because the accused were minors. Police arrested the children after a complaint from residents in southern Egypt, for allegedly desecrating a paper containing verses of the Holy Quran.—AFP
