CEC defends de-notification of lawmakers By Iftikhar A. Khan ISLAMABAD, Sept 25: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim has defended ECP’s decision to de-notify 11 lawmakers disqualified recently by the Supreme Court for holding dual nationality, saying the commission was discharging its duties in line with the powers given to it by the Constitution. Justice Rehman favourite to get SC post By Malik Asad ISLAMABAD, Sept 25: A change in the leadership of Islamabad High Court is likely as the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry will consider on Thursday the name of incumbent IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman for his elevation to the Supreme Court and that of Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi as the next chief justice of the high court.
