Khoso appoints finance adviser, forms team for IMF talksBy Khaleeq KianiISLAMABAD, April 15: A day before a high-level delegation leaves for negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and US officials to seek an economic bailout, the caretaker prime minister put together on Monday an economic team. He inducted Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry as his adviser for finance and appointed Dr Waqar Masood Khan as secretary of finance department. “Prime Minister retired Justice Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has appointed Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry as adviser finance, in-charge of ministry of finance,” said a notification issued by Prime Minister Secretariat. SC seeks criteria for setting up CNG stationsBy Our Staff ReporterISLAMABAD, April 15: The Supreme Court asked on Monday the government and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to submit a set of criteria for setting up CNG stations, especially in view of the scarce availability of natural gas connections in the country. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that had taken up a case pertaining to the CNG station licences approved during the tenures of former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf and former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain asked for authentic copy of the government’s policy as well as the amendments made subsequently. | ||||||||||||||
